ITOBA
– The artists who create fiber art all over Kyushu in Japan –
ITOBA was established in 2017.
ITOBA is a group of artists regarding fiver art.
The members have been challenging the creative works using the various techniques which are dying, weaving, knitting, spinning, knotting, untying, and so on.
Currently, 23 members are working together.
The members are acting in various fields, for example, Hakata-ori, Kurume-kasuri, Kokura Stripes, Amagi-shibori, dyeing and weaving, hand spun yarn, knitting, felt, indigo dyeing, stencil dyeing, hand printing. batik, tie-dye, textile art, fiber art, rattan and wood and so on all over Kyushu in Japan.
ITOBA previously held “ITOBA EXHIBITION” four times at Fukuoka Asian Art Museum and Kyushu Geibun-Kan ana “OPEN STUDIO” in Fukuoka.
We have been realizing that craft and art are the important things which make us happy in our daily life.
We believe, to express the certain and the beauty creating from the artists is our great mission in unpredictable times.
